Goan Beef Stew

The most flavorful and super delicious beef stew combined with veggies is a traditional Goan dish served at weddings and special occasions. An ultimate comfort food for our little kids too.

Method – 1:

Ingredients:
▪️ 1kg cups – Beef (washed and cut into small pieces)
▪️ 1 tbsp – Ginger-Garlic paste
▪️ 1 tbsp – Recheado masala
▪️ 1 tbsp – Green masala or Cafreal masala
▪️ Salt to taste

Preparation:
▪️ Combine all the above ingredients together and mix well. Let it marinate for about 2 hrs.
▪️ Pressure cook the meat for 2 whistles. Turn off the flame and try to open the lid by releasing the pressure from the whistle.
▪️ Separate the cooked meat and the stock. Keep aside.


Method – 2:

Ingredients:
▪️ 1 cup – Carrots (peeled, cut into small cubes)
▪️ 1 cup – French beans (cut into 1/2-inch pieces)
▪️ 1 cup – Potatoes (peeled, cut into small cubes)
▪️ 1 cup – Green peas
▪️ 1 ½ cup – Macaroni
▪️ Enough water to boil these veggies
▪️ Salt to taste

Preparation:
▪️ Boil all the veggies separately by adding salt to taste. Drain out and keep aside to cool. (use the same water to repeat this process)
▪️ Cook the macaroni separately until half done. Drain out. Drizzle a little oil, mix well and keep aside to cool.


Method – 3:

Ingredients:
▪️ 3 nos – Onions (medium sized, finely chopped)
▪️ 1 – Tomato (large, finely chopped)
▪️ 1 tbsp – Ginger – Garlic (finely chopped)
▪️ 2 nos – Green Chillies (finely chopped)
▪️ 18 nos – Cloves
▪️ 2” – Cinnamon stick
▪️ 1 – Knorr chicken cube
▪️ 1 tbsp – Butter
▪️ 2 tbsps – Condensed milk
▪️ Handful of chopped Coriander leaves
▪️ 3 tbsps – Oil for cooking
▪️ Salt to taste

Preparation:
▪️ Heat oil in a deep pan, over a medium heat. Once hot, pour the oil.
▪️ Add finely chopped onions and sauté till translucent.
▪️ Add the chopped ginger – garlic, green chillies and tomatoes. Stir and fry for 2 mins.
▪️ To this add the cloves, cinnamon stick and the knorr chicken cube. Give it a good stir.
▪️ Now pour the meat stock and add the butter. Bring it to a boil.
▪️ Add the cook meat and the chopped coriander leaves. Stir well and cook for about 2 minutes on high flame.
▪️ Add the boiled veggies and the condensed milk. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined well. Turn off the flame.
▪️ After about 30 minutes, add the cooked macaroni. Give it a gentle stir.
▪️ Enjoy this delicious beef stew with bread or pulao.
